If you have a body, and if you can go to the beach, then you already have a “beach body.”
I think there is a critical difference between complacency and fully accepting yourself. The former is resting on your laurels and is a passive attitude towards life. The former is actively choosing to feel the peace and contentment of where you are on your life’s journey.
I am far from perfect. Everyone is. And, everyone is also exactly where they need to be in this current moment. Yes, there is always room to grow and improve; if there wasn’t, I’d be dead! But there can simultaneously exist a gratitude for the current step you’re on.
Could I hit the box more often? Could I eat more veggies? Could I consume less sweets? Could I get more sleep? Could I tone up more? Of course the answer to all these questions is “yes.” I know where I want to be, I know I have what it takes to get there, and I am grateful for my healthy and able body in its current state.
How can you practice both drive for your goals and appreciation for how far you’ve already come?
